General Wellness -- Have Enough Sleep

Why is it important to have enough sleep?

There are plenty of reasons why you should subscribe to a good night's sleep. Preferably, take 8 hours of sleep, and at the very least, 6 hours.

Here are the reasons:
1.) Sufficient sleep will make you feel better the next day. No mood swings.
2.) Lack of sleep will tend to make you overeat. Experience shows us this to be so.
3.) Lack of sleep will shake up your hormone levels. Your body's system will be put into imbalance.
4.) Lack of sleep will not give you the energy and the motivation for your exercise program.
5.) Sufficient sleep will allow your body to heal and build muscles.

Above are just some reasons to have enough sleep. Be disciplined. If you know your priorities, and if you truly value such--you will sleep early tonight. =)

Take Action! Lose the Calories...

More than just reading about losing weight, the challenging part is actually to do the nitty-gritty stuff. You should be someone who takes the time to do the hard part--diet and exercise.

You should have the discipline to eat what is right and healthy. You should eat natural foods: fruits and vegetables--enjoying the nutrients these provide. With such types of food, you are ensuring the necessary vitamins and minerals will be taken in for your body to benefit from.

You should also have the discipline to get out of bed and exercise. Twenty minutes a day will suffice as a start. As long as you are consistent, 20 mins a day is way better than not exercising at all. Combine aerobic exercise with some weight training for maximum results.

There you have it: subscribe to a healthy eating plan and sweat your way to burning those calories. Be consistent with this approach, and lose weight. You will come out healthier and looking good. Take Care...

Magic Pills: Metabolic Boost for Your Weight Loss Program

There are those of us who don’t like to wait a long time before seeing results on our bodies. Not being able to see results right away will tend to depress us. If we need to get some edge in our weight loss program, we can always go for fat-burning pills.

But you must put some sense in to it, so that you also will not expect too much—there are still things you must do, than just plainly taking these pills. Exercise and the right eating plan are still important.

All these will help you in getting the most of your weight loss program.

Basic Equation: Calories In < Calories Out

The formula for being fit is simple: Calories In < Calories Out.

If we eat more than what our bodies burn, these excess calories become excess fat in our bodies. We should be mindful of the total calories then that we take the whole day. If we are not able to utilize these for energy, expect those to put in more weight for you the next time you weigh in.

The key points:
1.) Eat only enough for your energy needs -- you might be surprised as to how less you will need.
2.) Subscribe to a balanced diet -- this ensures you get enough variety of nutrients that your body needs. Even fats have their use in our body (ever cared for healthy skin, nails and hair? fats play a role here).
3.) I the early part, avoid highly refined carbohydrates. Concentrate on fruits and vegetables. Eat less rice.
4.) Drink plenty of water -- for better digestion and flushing down of toxins in the body.
5.) Eat in small amounts every 4 to 5 hours. If you can, eat less at nighttime. You expend less energy on this time.

Be smart about your eating habits--and look smart and attractive afterwards...

Top 3 Things for General Wellness

I consider below to be the most important for General Wellness:

1.) Diet
2.) Exercise
3.) Sleep

Diet: eating the right kinds of food and having a balanced diet. Eating just enough is important.

Exercise: 20 to 30 minutes a day of exercise will do. Aerobic and strength training combination is best. Start slow, however.

Sleep: Get enough of it. If you do, you feel invigorated and you feel you can do a lot of things--including exercise. Also, you will find that you will not be eating that much. Try it! Get enough sleep.
